Johnathan Thurston is not only a two-time Dally M Medal and Wally Lewis medalist for his skills as a Australian rugby player, he also works for the community. He has worked with the indigenous communities of North Queensland and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. In addition he was chosen for the cover of the League Of Their Own 2006 calendar. Proceeds from the sales of League Of Their Own, went to the Koori Kids foundation, an organization that uses sport to assist indigenous and non-indigenous Australian children living in rural and remote areas to achieve their goals and dreams in life. Thurston was only one of 12 players from the NRL chosen for the calendar. What a man, what a man, what a mighty fine man.
