Just Jack's Son

It seems a rather odd phenomenon to see actors that you were first introduced to as child stars, grow up and start doing adult material. I guess it has always happened, but as my thirties race by, there are more and more actors who I was first introduced to as teenagers, now in their twenties and thirties doing more adult like roles.

Actor Michael Angarano always seemed to be on the brink of adulthood though. Like many, I was first introduced to Michael when he played Jack's son on Will & Grace. Although still a teen, the character was always surrounded by fairly adult material on the show and part of the joke was always that he was wiser and more mature than most of the adult characters.

Even then, there was something in Michael that stood out. Talented for sure, but he was not your carbon cutter teen actor and it was clear early that he was going to go on to bigger and better roles. I have been impressed with the the young actors choices in movies and roles, and now at 25, he has a slew of great projects on his resume. I have not seen them all, but I developed a respect for his work in Red State and Ceremony and look forward to seeing him with Julianne Moore in The English Teacher.
