Favorite Video of the Day: Chill with Casey Deidrick & Chandler Massey

Proving that soap hunks can do more than just pout and take their shirts off, Days Of Our Lives co-stars and good friends Casey Deidrick & Chandler Massey get together to put their own spin on Escape by Enrique Iglesias. And of course, being this is FH, we must also see our soap hunks shirtless!

Thanks Ashton for the two caps above.

Keeping Up Appearances: Andrew Carter, Beauty

Andrew Patrick Carter is beautiful. One cannot help but be instantly struck by the blonde hair, the body, the sexy pouty lips and hazel eyes that appear to be looking straight at you. But for Andrew Carter, beauty and appearance isn't just something that is, it is something that has developed. From his childhood, his experiences and his passion for the arts and all things visual, Andrew has developed a unique sense of what looks, sounds and feels beautiful.

Originally from California, from an early age Andrew was always in art and music classes. Starting in 7th grade, he became involved with musical theatre and fell in love with singing and acting. Andrew has had both classical vocal training and six years of dramatic direction, leading to numerous awards for his vocal performances including the Maestro Award for his solo vocal performance at the 2010 Heritage Music Festival in Anaheim, California.

Andrew moved to South Florida on his own in 2011 to pursue his dreams and aspirations as a professional makeup artist, photographer, and model. Andrew's passion for makeup began when involved musical theatre back in the 7th grade. Self taught, Andrew specializes in beauty, editorial, runway, and events. In late 2012 he had the opportunity to work closely with Professional makeup artist and celebrity nail designer Nikki Oxley for six months at Sephora. One of their projects included working for People en Espanol Magazine's Estrellas del Año party in Miami Beach, Florida.

One of the things that stuck out for me when asking Andrew about himself was that he mentioned being adopted in the first sentence of his bio. I think it meant more to me than Andrew, but his answer, as to why it was important enough to mention, struck a cord with me for personal reasons. Andrew states that being adopted always set him apart form most all of his friends. 'I look so different then the rest of my family. I am the only person in my family that is musical and artistic.'

Now Andrew doesn't necessarily believe that his family, or being adopted, have had much impact on his makeup or modeling work, but I can't help but feel that everything we do is somehow connected to how we felt about our place in the world, and in our family. As we grow up, looking different than others, even if the different is positive, can affect how we interact with others. For Andrew, that interaction is choosing a profession dedicated to assisting others to look incredible.

Music, Modeling & Make-Up:

Music:

'I have many passions. I can't chose to love one over the other. Having an unusual vocal range from a E2 to a C5 (full voice), C4 to a G5 (falsetto) with a whistle register from G5 to G6, I fall into all four male vocal range classifications—bass, baritone, tenor, and countertenor. If I had to chose a favorite song of mine, it would be between Come Home and I Wish. I love the lyrics in I Wish, it has such a beautiful message. '

I love both, but I especially love Andrew's voice on Come Home. You can listen to both, along with more of Andrew's music, on SoundCloud HERE:

Modeling:

'2013 has proven to be an incredible year so far as I have gotten to model with a number of very talented photographers including Desi Arnaz and Bill Clearlake. It was a pleasure working with them both and can’t wait to be a part of more amazing photo shoots in the future.'

What first brought you to the world of modeling?

Doing makeup and photography my clients always asked me why I didn't do modeling as well because of how I look and acted. They always said I would love it so much so I gave it a try. The very first shoot I did was at a beach in Northern CA. My older brother was the photographer for the day. It was really quite fun and I remember it was windy.

What body part do most people compliment you on?

hmmm depends on who you ask but I would say I get lots of compliments on my hair, eyes, or probably the most, my butt haha

Do you have a dream shoot or photographer you hope to do?

I would love to work with Mike Ruiz (photographer), Annie Leibovitz (photographer), Thomas Synnamon (photographer), Jenn Hoffman (photography), Charlie Matthews (model), Mélissa Gateau (model), Jerome Kutscher (model).

Makeup:

Do you have a favorite image, or creative concept you have come up with?

There is an image of Colleen Cooper (model) that I love!! Her hair is up is a mess ratted bun with strands of hair across her face and shes looking over her shoulder. The makeup I did for her was this over the top, bright animal inspired eye look with clean looking skin and a nude lip.

Is there a difference with approaching makeup for a man or a woman or is more about the individual?

Typically for men, it is best to go the minimalist route where it just looks like they have healthy perfect skin. For women its always going to depend on what they are wearing, what look the photographer or agency is looking for, and what they feel comfortable wearing if its for a special event.

How is it doing makeup for your own shoot?

I love getting to do makeup for my own shoots. sometimes its very simple "no makeup" makeup and occasionally I get to do dark grungy smokey eyes or I get to be a vampire. Its fun because when I get done with makeup I feel like a different person. I feel like the character that I am portraying.

Tis The Season:

Now I don't think my prom was as bad as the one attended by Tommy Ross (William Katt), but some of you might think my fate was equally as terrifying. Earlier this week I was at a friends house and although it was not supposed to be the focus, the night ended in a bitter battle between parents and son with me as referee. The game, the Prom, the issues in dispute, all of them; Use of the car, how much $ would be given, and of course, what time he had to be home.

I would describe the end of the game as sort of a tie. He is taking the car on his date first, but bringing it home before being driven to the prom. Cash was easy, and time home, that's where I sort of sided with son. Mom and dad wanted a 2 a.m return, but without his having the car, I had to support no curfew, and suggested a compromise of a couple of check-in calls. We also all agreed on no-alcohol, but none of us thought for a second that one was going to stick.

I got home later that night and began to think about my own prom. The evening ended with a glass of wine on the patio and me doing what I often do, sticking in a movie themed to the even. Carrie it was! Carrie may seem on the surface like simply a horror film, but the high school, and eventual prom scenes, really superbly sum up the true horror of what it is like to maneuver through high school, peer pressure, bullying and of course, the prom.

Carrie is one of my favorite horror films for a variety of reasons. First off, I associate with a particularly great night when I was younger. It was one of those perfect fall nights with my friends which ended with the watching of this flick on television. Secondly, those who follow FH know I love me some William Katt.

I have covered William many times on the blog, and to me, he is sexy as hell in his 70's clothes with all that blonde hair during the time Carrie was filmed. It's also interesting to watch and listen to the special features, especially the tie between the casting of Carrie and Star Wars. Katt was in the running for Luke Skywalker at one point, and many of the Carrie cast also auditioned for Star Wars.

But.... back to my prom. The year, 1993, the theme, Together 4Ever, yes, with the 4... My date had long blond hair (although not curly like Katt's), but my date was a she not a he. The Prom itself was uneventful, fun, lots of dancing and great times with friends I swore I would have 4ever. Of course I see hardly any of them these days, but that doesn't mean the prom didn't have some 4ever moments.

Like many people, my Prom night ended with sex, and the end of my virginity. I had been with this girl for awhile, and had come pretty close a number of times before, so it was not really a huge deal. It was exciting, mainly as we were at a beach party, and the thought of the swarms of people a few yards a way made it fun. I loved her, and had no regrets. It was, in some ways something I need to have happen. It also wasn't the last time we were together.

Coming out for many isn't a day, it is a process, sometimes taking years. I look at guys in their early teens, out and proud and marvel at how confident they are so early into the life game. The recent story of the gay couple becoming Prom Kings was both heartwarming, and a touch melancholy for me. It took me til my mid twenties to become who I am now. Those years between 15 and 25 were not horror filled however, I loved them. I had a ton of friends and was involved in almost every sport and activity at school and at the center of every social event. Life got more complicated for me after coming out, high school, was a breeze.

I sometimes wonder if my high school years had been harder, if I might be more equipped with dealing with the shit life has thrown my way as an adult. I am betting most of those kids who managed to escape the gym at Carrie's prom are pretty good at not sweating the small stuff...
