Instagrams That Inspire: Coy Wire

'Flow Like Water. Never be content. Keep moving towards a better you. Don't stop. Never, ever, ever stop. What's your ocean?'

The Pope's visit had it's amazing moments, but it also pushed Coy Wire off the CNN schedule over the weekend. Although Wire is a regular anchor on HLN's Weekend Express, as well as an analyst and writer for FOX Sports, I usually catch him on CNN where he usually appears at some point each weekend. During Ball Gate, Wire was seen a lot, but between Trump and the Pope, I might have to actually turn on HLN to see the chin and the grin that always brightens my day.

Wire, who played for the NFL, with the Buffalo Bills from 2002–07, and the Falcons from 2008-10 is a breath of fresh air whenever he appears on CNN. His smile is contagious and he clearly seems to love his job. I actually read Wire, before seeing him on screen after he wrote a great opinion piece on CNN.com last year about Michael Sam and the NFL. Although I think Sam's downward spiral is in part self inflicted, Wire's piece, especially given his own experience was a great read.

Portfolio: Gur by NICKET

'Gur is very disciplined and dedicated especially with his physique, as you can see, but also in the rest of his life.'

One of the most interesting things about some photographers is the models they choose to shoot. Earlier this spring, I featured California photographer NICKET's work with the easy going and free spirited Zach Clemens. I followed this summer and now.... I have the pleasure of featuring NICKET's work with athletic and clearly disciplined Gur.

Gur is new to modeling, but like every thing he does, is committed to be his best in any and all aspects of his work. The 21 year old San Jose model hits the gym everyday, using his strength and conditioning training to maintain his incredible physique. Along with those daily trips to the gym, Gur's passion for sport, especially soccer, volleyball and basketball help him with both stamina and fitness.

'Working with Gur is always a pleasure. He has a like able personality that is best captured with his infectious smile. He always gives his best in every shoot. It is also great to see how connected he is with his family and how humble he is. On the shoot he is always energetic and willing to try different looks, although he always enjoys showing off his muscles with good reason.'
NICKET

Of course, working on FH, one of the aims is showcase how models look out of their clothes. Gur certainly has an amazing body, and his chest, stomach, legs and those arms certainly look great uncovered. Gur is also a great example however, with how taking care of yourself also enables your body to look equally hot in clothes. They say clothes make the man and I love some of NICKET's fashion themed images, one of my favorites is of Gur in his black pants and purple and black striped sweater. Confident, debonair and incredibly sexy.

Good Vibrations

Some questioned the choice of Mark Wahlberg as the host for last nights Philadelphia Pope fest, but I think Marky Mark, and all that surrounded his past was a good choice given the Pope's message of inclusion and redemption. Now... if Mark had just worn just jeans or his Calvin's the message could have truly come full circle.

A Favorite Hunk

For many years I regretted that I had included the word Hunk into the title of my blog. Favorite Hunks began as a Yahoo Group, (one I can no longer access to edit or delete) and I decided to keep the name in order for the many who had joined the group to know there was a connection. Hunk is one of those words that I feel at times may trivialize the artists I feature and a few models and actors have approached about stories have paused before jumping on board because of the word.

But... sometimes it just fits so perfectly. Actor Scott Elrod is talented, he is hot and sexy and his entire body and persona to me, is the definition of hunk. Scott also has a smile that could have me do, pretty much anything he asked. Born into an American Military family in Germany, Elrod grew up in Colorado and for awhile thought he would follow his fathers path and become a pilot.

Elrod went on to earn his pilot license after graduation, and became an air traffic controller until he went to the movies one evening in 1986. On that night, after seeing Tom Cruise in Top Gun, acting became his new calling. Elrod went on to appear on television, including a supporting role on the Anne Heche short lived ABC series, Men In Trees. On the big screen, Elrod appeared in Soul Survivor, Home Run, Vanished and Argo.

Currently Elrod is heating up the small screen on The Young & The Restless. I used to catch Y & R now and then, on holidays and sick days and I loved the Abbott family when I used to watch a bit when I was a kid and especially liked the incredible Beth Maitland who played Traci. I cannot bring myself to watch these days, particularly since Charles Pratt Jr is writing. Pratt is a show destroyer whose pattern is to end most character driven storytelling in favor of a series of viral video type moments thrown together for 'shock', most of which destroy characters and make little to no sense. I will keep my eye out for Scott in other projects, and hope the series gets a DVD release one of these days.

Full Steam Ahead: Rico by IMAGENTS

'This young 19 year old unknown male model was amazing in his natural ability to pose! Rico was perhaps the best model (not needing direction) I have worked with and he was one of my favorites thus far.'
Jeff, IMAGENTS

Jeff, the man behind IMAGENTS describes himself as an artist, a residential designer, and photographer. When spending time with Jeff's work, you can clearly see the artistry as well as the influence of design with his images. Through his use of lighting, props, fashion, angles and pose, Jeff creates unique visuals with a focus on lines, shapes and of course form.

Jeff's imagery is also unapologetically sexual, it is beautifully clear and direct. Jeff's models aren't posing for art class, one look into his models eyes makes that intensely apparent. 20 year old Rico's beautiful brown eyes convey his sexual energy loudly, an energy so strong, Jeff actually had to try to control and keep in check with his camera.

After Rico answered an a Craigslist advert to model for Jeff, he became persistent and eager to get together to work. There were endless e-mails from Rico about when they could get together to do the shoot. Rico's energy and enthusiasm led to not one, but three consecutive days of shooting, and those three long days of shooting led to a couple of thousand images. 'Had Rico had his way, we would have done photo shoots EVERY day for weeks!'

'Rico is open to anything in front of the camera. I was so impressed and so pleased with him, his natural talent, and his performance in front of the camera. Rico is a very sexual young man, it was a challenge just to keep him calm. He was raring to go full steam ahead!'

Rico's sizzling look stems from his Latino of Mexican heritage and that energy stems from a desire and restlessness to express himself creatively, emotionally and sexually. Rico clearly looks like he belongs in front of the camera and I love the variety of images Jeff was able to capture over their three days together.

I think some of my favorites are the shots Jeff took of Rico kneeling on the chair. Jeff's use of light and shadow make the shots and I love how Rico interacts with the chair's tall back and how the lines from the chair's design blend so beautifully with his body and skin. If you want to see even more of Rico, check out additional images at the FH-OVERFLOW.
