Favorite Hunk of the Day: Peter Loung

Toronto's Peter Loung's portfolio not only does a great job of showcasing his beautiful face and great body. It also does a great job of showcasing his personality and his amazing array of skills and talents.

Peter is not just a model. On top of that you can add actor (he has worked with Edward Norton, Robin Williams, Christian Bale and has had bit parts on Being Erica and True Blood). Add to that list; circus acrobat, musician (plays the trumpet), a performing artist, a martial artist and a dancer.

Falling In Love Again: Josh Charles

My love affair with actor Josh Charles began in 1989 when as a teen I saw a movie that for many had great significance, 'Dead Poets Society'. Though Carpe diem (seize the day) certainly got over used, I cannot deny the power of that statement and the movie at the time.

Since 1989 I my crush has gone from warm to hot through 'Threesome', 'Sports Night' and 'Four Brothers'. Over the past year it got hot again with Josh's appearance on 'In Treatment'. With Josh now a regular on 'The Good Wife' it is as strong as ever.

If you are not watching 'The Good Wife' you have to ask yourself why. Firstly it is a great concept, putting a new spin on the courtroom drama. Secondly it is fully stacked with amazing actors from Josh and the main cast through supporting players Joe Morton, Alan Cumming. Archie Panjabi is also a standout playing a great role. Also, since it is filmed in New York you will see many familiar faces from the New York stage. Superb acting and directing are just the icing on the cake. It is no wonder Entertainment Weekly named 'The Good Wife' televisions best new show.

Josh Charles has been mainly working on television the past few years but besides his extensive movie career, Josh has an extensive theatre background. Josh appears to take great care in choosing roles both on stage and on film. This has resulted in some outstanding performances. Hopefully the 'The Good Wife' will stick around for awhile so I don't need any more breaks from my Love for actor Josh Charles.

Josh Charles in 'Pie In The Sky'

Josh Charles and Anne Heche in
'Pie In The Sky' (1996)

Hang on for a wild ride! In this fast-paced romantic comedy, Charlie Dunlap (Sports Night's Josh Charles) always dreamed of being traffic reporter# but when he lands his perfect job in L.A., his relationship with the girl of his dreams takes a turn for the worse. Not even his mentor, famed radio personality Alan Davenport (Monsters Inc.'s John Goodman) can help him, and now he's got to put the pedal to the metal to chase after his one chance at true love. Christine Lahti (Chicago Hope), Anne Heche (Donnie Brasco), and Peter Riegert (National Lampoon's Animal House) co-star in this hilarious comedy about life, love and hot pursuit!

Josh Charles in 'Threesome'

Back in 1994, before gay characters were allowed to actually have a happy ending in movies, and before Stephen Baldwin became so frightening, Threesome was quite groundbreaking.

Lara Flynn Boyle played Alex who due to a computer mix up ends up in a dorm with two men. The sex obsessed Stuart (Baldwin) and the 'am I gay or not' Eddy (Josh Charles). Thankfully unlike other movies around this time, Eddy did not end up in love with Alex, coming to the conclusion he was straight. He actually realizes he is indeed gay and ends up happy with a boyfriend at the time.

Josh was certainly a highlight for me in this movie as I could relate to much of his story. Baldwin's Stuart was a revelation to me though as I think it may have been the first time I remember watching a straight man in a movie so comfortable with having a gay man attracted to him. The scene where he puts Eddy's hand on his butt during a threesome may seem like a small thing, but really was such a powerful scene.

Kudos to the cast, writers, producer and director of Threesome. What could have been a 'National Lampoon' comedy, or a movie done to exploit was written, directed and acted in a sensitive and thoughtful way. I have not seen this flick in many years, but think it is time for a re-watch.
